Become a member of Minnesota Film Arts

Minnesota Film Arts is a nonprofit film exhibition organization formed from the merger between The University Film Society and Oak Street Cinema. The two combined boast a 47-year history of film exhibition and community building in the Twin Cities and beyond. Over the past year, we have presented over 500 films, comprising of both new independent and foreign premieres and repertory classics; we have opened our doors to a number of ethnic and grassroots communities, local filmmakers, high schools, and colleges, and we have brought film to neighborhood parks and outstate theatres.

None of these programs is possible without the generous support of our patrons. We thank you for your aid in the past and hope that it may continue in the future.

Founders' Club Membership

The first 1,000 members of the new organization will become part of the Minnesota Film Arts Founders Club! Your commitment will be recognized in our annual organizational report.

Benefits to Membership

A Minnesota Film Arts annual membership allows reduced price tickets at $4 (regular price: $6-7), at both the Oak Street Cinema and U Film Society's Bell Auditorium, 365 days a year. See below for a full list of all membership levels with benefits and tax deductibility.

Membership Levels

MFA MEMBER - $50 individual/$85 dual/$30 for students

• Discount rate of $4 year-round for regular-priced programs (excludes special events)
• Discount ticket rate for Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival § 2 film tickets good for either theater
• 1 Founders Club MFA t-shirt
• tax deductible portion: $40 indiv, $75 dual, $25 student

DIRECTORS CLUB - $250

• All of the above, plus:
• Free year-round concessions at the Oak Street Cinema
• Invites to special screenings & receptions
• All benefits apply to cardholder + a guest
• tax deductible portion: $230

PRODUCERS CLUB - $500

• All of the above, plus:
• Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival Pass ($120 value)
• Reduced rate to rent one of the theaters
• tax deductible portion: $350

MOVIE MOGULS CLUB - $1,000+

• All of the above, plus:
• Enter into a drawing to "Pick a Series for the Oak Street or Bell"
• Theater plaque (and key to the executive washroom!)
